Pramac Yamaha is poised to reveal their 2025 MotoGP rider line-up in the coming weeks, with speculation suggesting that Miguel Oliveira and Jack Miller will join the team. As they prepare to transition from Ducati to Yamaha machinery, the team is also eyeing a potential Moto2 expansion, all while leading the current MotoGP championship with Jorge Martin.
Pramac Yamaha has stated they will announce their 2025 MotoGP lineup this month, with speculation pointing to Miguel Oliveira and Jack Miller as the new pairing. However, it’s unlikely that the announcement will be made during this weekend’s Misano round.
"We've already made our decision regarding the riders," Pramac team boss Gino Borsoi told TNT Sports. "We will reveal our future plans either at this weekend's Misano round or at the second one on September 20."
When asked about the delay in announcing their new riders, Borsoi explained: "It's just about finalizing a few details."
Pramac Yamaha appears to be prioritizing experience over rising stars in Moto2. By signing Oliveira from Trackhouse and Jack Miller from KTM, they are securing two seasoned Grand Prix winners. For Miller, the move to Pramac in 2025 could save his MotoGP career. After losing his KTM seat and being passed over by other teams, he was close to ending his career until the Pramac opportunity emerged.
Pramac is undergoing a significant transition by switching from Ducati to Yamaha machinery. As a satellite team for Yamaha, they will help the Japanese manufacturer restore its presence on the grid with four bikes.
Borsoi is personally enthusiastic about the partnership: "Yamaha is an incredible factory. They've won many championships in the past, and we believe in their power and new structure. We've seen remarkable improvement over the past two years. While we're focused on this season, we're also looking forward to our future with Yamaha."
Remarkably, Pramac is currently leading the MotoGP championship, with Jorge Martin in the lead.
"We need to focus on fighting for the championship with Jorge, as well as our future with Yamaha," Borsoi said. "We're also considering a Moto2 team, so there's a lot on our plate."
Although Borsoi couldn't provide more details about Pramac Yamaha's Moto2 plans, he hinted, "We have a few riders in mind."
