Honda has confirmed that its own oil and chemical brand, Pro Honda, will become the main sponsor of Diogo Moreira’s team in the 2026 MotoGP World Championship.
Because of this new deal, Moreira will race under the name Pro Honda LCR. His team-mate Johann Zarco will continue with his own sponsor, Castrol, so the two bikes will carry different colours and branding.
This agreement ends LCR’s long partnership with IDEMITSU, which started in 2018 with Japanese rider Takaaki Nakagami. The partnership finished after Somkiat Chantra left the team at the end of last season.
Diogo Moreira is moving up to MotoGP after winning the Moto2 World Championship. Many fans see him as one of the most exciting young riders in the sport. Honda hopes this new sponsorship will help him grow and succeed at the highest level.
The exact colours of Moreira’s bike have not been shown yet. However, Pro Honda has appeared in MotoGP before. The brand was first seen on Stefan Bradl’s wild-card bike in 2024. It later appeared again on Honda test bikes ridden by Aleix Espargaro and Takaaki Nakagami.
Kotaro Shimizu from Honda Motor Co. said the company is very happy to start this partnership. He explained that Honda trusts LCR team boss Lucio Cecchinello and the HRC factory team. He also said Honda will give full support to Moreira and the Pro Honda LCR project from 2026.
Lucio Cecchinello also welcomed the deal. He said Pro Honda is an official Honda brand with high-quality products, and that the partnership is very important for the team’s future. He added that both sides want to find the perfect balance between strong performance and reliability.
Moreira will ride his Honda RC213V again very soon. He is scheduled to take part in the Sepang Shakedown test from January 29 to 31, where he will continue preparing for his rookie MotoGP season.
With a world champion rider, strong factory support, and a new title sponsor, Pro Honda LCR hopes to become a more competitive force in MotoGP in 2026.
