Racing Bulls has apologised after a video appeared to show one of its team members behaving disrespectfully during last weekend’s São Paulo Grand Prix.

The footage, which quickly spread on social media, shows a man in Racing Bulls kit filming himself near the podium while Lando Norris received his trophy. The employee can be seen giving a thumbs-down, which some interpreted as encouraging the crowd to boo Norris. Another team member soon intervened and stopped him.

In a statement, Racing Bulls said: “We’re aware of the video from the weekend’s podium. It doesn’t reflect our team’s values or the spirit of VCARB. The matter has been handled internally. We believe in celebrating great racing and showing respect to every driver, team, and fan both on and off the track.”

Racing Bulls is one of two Formula 1 teams owned by Red Bull. Its driver, Max Verstappen, remains in the championship hunt but fell 49 points behind Norris after the previous round. Norris has previously been booed by fans at races, including in Mexico, but he says he finds it amusing.

“I don’t know why, I can’t stop laughing when I get booed,” Norris said. “I just concentrate on doing my thing. People can do what they want, it’s part of sport sometimes.”
