The Pertamina Enduro VR46 MotoGP team has revealed its new colours for the 2026 season in Rome. Fabio di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli will race the new bikes.
Valentino Rossi’s famous fluorescent yellow is still a key part of the design. However, the team has changed the main background from white to black. The new look is called “Black and Light” and is meant to feel stronger and more aggressive.
Rossi said the team has used yellow for three years. In the last two seasons, it was mixed with white, but for 2026 they wanted something different. He also joked that the mechanics will be happier because black bikes are much easier to clean than white ones. He added that white looks elegant, but black looks more like racing.
The 2026 season will be VR46’s fifth year in MotoGP and their second as a factory-supported Ducati team. Ducati has been the strongest brand in recent seasons, but VR46 were the only Ducati team that did not win a race last year. Their last MotoGP victories still come from Marco Bezzecchi in 2023.
Fabio di Giannantonio had his best ever season last year. He finished sixth in the world championship, making him the fourth best Ducati rider overall. He also scored four main race podiums and five Sprint podiums.
Franco Morbidelli also returned to the podium four times in his first season with VR46. His year was difficult because of injuries in Germany and Valencia, which stopped him from showing his full potential.
In 2026, di Giannantonio will again ride the latest factory Ducati Desmosedici. Morbidelli will continue on a one-year-old Ducati, which is still very competitive. VR46 decided not to take a second factory bike, and that extra machine was later given to Gresini Racing and Alex Marquez.
With their new black and yellow design, VR46 hope this season will finally bring them back to winning ways.
