MotoGP has confirmed that Chief Commercial Officer Dan Rossomondo will step down in January 2026. After joining the sport in 2023 from a senior position in the NBA, he now plans to return to the United States to spend more time with his family while supporting MotoGP through the transition.
MotoGP organisation has announced that Dan Rossomondo will leave his post as Chief Commercial Officer in January 2026. Rossomondo joined MotoGP in 2023, coming from a high-level role at the NBA, with hopes that he would help grow MotoGP’s reach, especially in the USA.
In a statement, Rossomondo said he has become a genuine fan of MotoGP and that he will return to the U.S. to spend more time with his family, while still helping the organisation during the transition.
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP’s organising body, said Rossomondo had been an important part of MotoGP’s commercial evolution, and that the organisation thanks him for his dedication and positive impact.
At present, it’s unclear who will replace Rossomondo as Chief Commercial Officer. MotoGP says a transition period will follow so the commercial strategy continues smoothly.
This change comes after the involvement of Liberty Media, which recently acquired majority rights to MotoGP’s commercial operations.
