MotoGP Summaries Motogp 2026 Season MotoGP Brno Motogp testing
MotoGP is preparing for a new era as manufacturers get ready to test the championship’s future 850cc motorcycles. Marc Marquez, Fermin Aldeguer and Marco Bezzecchi are expected to be among the first riders to try the new machines during a private test at Brno, helping teams begin development for the major rule changes coming in 2027.
MotoGP is getting ready for a major change in 2027. The championship will move from 1000cc bikes to new 850cc machines. The bikes will also have less aerodynamic technology, ride-height devices will be removed, and Pirelli will become the official tyre supplier.
The first important test of these new motorcycles will take place after the Czech Grand Prix at Brno. A small group of current MotoGP riders will get the chance to ride the future bikes for the first time.
Ducati is expected to choose Marc Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer for the test. The Italian manufacturer wants riders who will still be part of its plans in the future. Marquez is the reigning MotoGP world champion, while Aldeguer is one of the sport’s most exciting young talents.
Aprilia is likely to be represented by Marco Bezzecchi. The Italian has become one of the key riders in the factory team and is expected to help with the development of the new bike.
The Brno test will be very important because it gives teams their first opportunity to collect information about the next generation of MotoGP machinery. Engineers will study how the new 850cc engines perform and how the bikes work with the new Pirelli tyres.
Only a limited number of prototype bikes and tyres are available at the moment. Because of this, each manufacturer is expected to use no more than two riders during the test. Teams also need to think carefully about which riders to select, especially when some riders may be leaving for different teams before the new rules arrive.
The move to 850cc bikes is one of the biggest technical changes MotoGP has seen for many years. The new regulations are designed to make the bikes safer and create closer racing. Smaller engines, reduced aerodynamics and a different tyre supplier will give engineers and riders many new challenges.
Fans will not be able to watch the Brno test, as it will take place behind closed doors. There will also be no official lap times released. Even so, the session could offer an early look at which manufacturers are adapting best to MotoGP’s future direction.
For Marc Marquez, Fermin Aldeguer and Marco Bezzecchi, the test could be the first step towards a completely new era of MotoGP racing. Their feedback may help shape the motorcycles that will compete for victories and world championships from 2027 onwards.
