Rumours from the MotoGP paddock suggest Davide Brivio may leave Trackhouse Racing to join Honda Racing Corporation. The experienced Italian is believed to be wanted by Honda as the company continues working to improve its MotoGP project after several difficult seasons.
Rumours in the MotoGP paddock suggest that Davide Brivio could soon leave Trackhouse Racing and move to Honda Racing Corporation. Several reports from Italy claim Honda wants the experienced team boss to help rebuild its MotoGP project after a difficult few seasons.
Brivio only joined Trackhouse at the start of 2024, but he quickly became one of the key figures inside the American team. Since his arrival, Trackhouse has made clear progress and built a strong relationship with Aprilia. Many people inside the paddock believe Brivio helped bring calm leadership and better organisation to the team.
The Italian has a long and successful history in motorcycle racing. He became famous for helping Valentino Rossi make his shock move from Honda to Yamaha in 2004. At the time, many people thought Rossi would struggle away from Honda, but he won the championship in his first season with Yamaha. Brivio later led Suzuki to the 2020 MotoGP world title with Joan Mir before the Japanese manufacturer left the sport.
Reports also suggest Honda sees Brivio as somebody who can improve the team’s long-term structure, not just race weekend performance. Honda has already hired several new engineers and technical staff as it tries to return to the front of MotoGP.
Brivio has also earned praise for his eye for young talent. One of his most talked-about decisions at Trackhouse was signing Japanese rider Ai Ogura. Some people doubted the move at first, but Ogura quickly impressed many observers with his speed and confidence in MotoGP.
If the rumours are true, Brivio’s departure would be a major loss for Trackhouse. The team is still growing in MotoGP, and many fans believe he played an important role in its recent progress.
At the moment, neither Honda nor Trackhouse has officially confirmed the move. However, speculation continues to grow, and many people in the MotoGP paddock expect more news in the coming weeks.
