The Cadillacs were the first ones to set fast times followed by Haas and Mercedes. With 4 minutes remaining of this part all drivers except for the Aston Martins had their times set. As this part was coming to an end, Oliver Bearman improved and lined up 15th, his teammate Esteban Ocon, on the other hand, couldn’t improve. When Alexander Albon did his last attempt he managed to qualify for the SQ2, leaving both Haases behind.
