Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team has confirmed that Jenson Button will become Team Ambassador as the team prepares for the introduction of new Formula One regulations in 2026. Button will support the team’s media, partner and commercial programmes during a key period of transition for the sport.

The 2026 season will mark a major technical reset in Formula One and the beginning of Aston Martin’s works partnerships with Honda, Aramco and Valvoline. Button brings extensive experience from multiple regulatory eras, as well as a long-standing relationship with Honda, having claimed his first Formula One victory with the manufacturer in 2006 and later winning the Super GT Championship in Japan.

Button will also reunite with Fernando Alonso, with whom he raced during the 2015 and 2016 seasons. A long-time admirer of the Aston Martin brand, Button owns and races a restored Aston Martin DB4, underlining his personal connection to the marque.

As Team Ambassador, Button will represent Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team across global events, partner activities and media engagements.

“Joining Aston Martin Aramco during such a transformative time in the team’s and the sport’s history is really exciting for me. Honda’s new works partnership with the team was a huge draw, and I look forward to bringing my years of experience working with them to my new role as an ambassador. The 2026 season is going to be fascinating, and being part of such an ambitious team is a real opportunity. I can’t wait for Melbourne,” said Jenson Button in the team’s press statement.
