Most drivers lined up for the Sprint in Miami on medium tyres. The only exceptions were the Cadillac cars on hard tyres and the Aston Martins on softs, hoping for more grip at the start.

There was also early disappointment for Nico Hulkenberg, who did not start the race. He suffered an engine problem on the warm-up lap, and his car could not be repaired in time, leaving an empty grid slot. Arvid Lindblad was to begin the sprint race from the pit lane, but did not make the start as Red Bull detected a technical issue as well.

When the lights went out, Lando Norris made an excellent start from pole position and kept the lead into the first corner. Oscar Piastri reacted just as well and moved into second place, giving McLaren an immediate one-two at the front. Charles Leclerc also managed to get ahead of Kimi Antonelli, who did not have a great start, and dropped from second to fourth.

Behind them, the opening laps were much more intense. Kimi Antonelli had to defend strongly from George Russell, with the two drivers even swapping positions in a close fight. At the same time, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were battling hard, running wheel-to-wheel and briefly exchanging places after a tight moment.

At the front, however, the race quickly settled down. Norris found a strong rhythm and began to build a gap, while Piastri stayed comfortably in second. Charles Leclerc followed in third, trying to stay close enough to challenge later.

As the laps went on, Leclerc did begin to close the gap to Piastri and, at one stage, got within a second. It looked like a fight for second place might develop, but a small mistake later in the race cost him time and ended that opportunity.

Further back, there were still some lively moments. Hamilton and Verstappen continued their battle, while other drivers fought closely in the midfield. However, none of these fights had any effect on the leading group.

In the final laps, everything was calm and controlled. Norris managed the race perfectly and maintained a safe gap to Piastri, with no late drama at the front.

After 19 laps, Lando Norris crossed the line to take a clear Sprint victory and the full eight points. Oscar Piastri followed in second place to earn seven points, completing a strong result for McLaren.

Charles Leclerc secured third s, while Kimi Antonelli initially finished fourth but, due to a five-second time penalty for track limits, dropped to sixth. This promoted George Russell to fourth and Max Verstappen to fifth.

Lewis Hamilton remained seventh and took two points, while Pierre Gasly stayed eighth to claim the final point.
