Formula 1 2026 F1 season F1 testing Ferrari Charles Leclerc

Charles Leclerc has revealed that Ferrari faces an intensive schedule in the days ahead, as the team builds on a productive Barcelona shakedown and turns its focus to the upcoming Bahrain test.

Ferrari left the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya with plenty of positives after the first pre-season running of the new 2026 Formula 1 cars. The Scuderia completed the second-highest number of laps of any team during the five-day shakedown, underlining both reliability and strong early preparation for the new regulation cycle.

For Charles Leclerc, the end of track action in Spain marked the start of a demanding working week back at the team’s headquarters in Maranello. The Monegasque driver explained that there will be little time to rest as Ferrari begins analysing data and refining its understanding of the SF-26.

"Well, full week in Maranello, and we will work on obviously analysing this test data, lots of simulator work, and starting to prepare Bahrain," Leclerc told F1.com.

A key focus for Ferrari over the coming days will be correlation work, ensuring that the simulator accurately reflects what the drivers experienced on track during the shakedown.

"Do a couple of tests, and most of all, I think probably the most important part will be the correlation on now that we've driven the real car, we'll go on the simulator and compare it and try and make it as similar to what it felt now on track in order to then focus on Bahrain, and know that we have a good reference in the sim," Leclerc added.

Ferrari’s strong mileage was matched by competitive performance. According to data published by the SoyMotor website, Lewis Hamilton set the fastest lap time of the entire Barcelona test during Friday afternoon, a promising sign as the seven-time world champion continues to adapt to life at the Italian team.

The next major checkpoint for Ferrari comes at the first official Bahrain test, scheduled for 11–13 February.
