Marc Márquez was honoured at the FIM Awards in Lausanne with the 2025 MotoGP World Championship gold medal and a special FIM Sporting Trophy, celebrating his courage, strength and unforgettable return to the top of the sport.
Marc Márquez had a very special night at the FIM Awards in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he received his gold medal as the 2025 MotoGP World Champion.
At the end of the event, he was called back on stage and given a new prize called the FIM Sporting Trophy by Jorge Viegas, the President of the FIM, who said Marc had made one of the greatest comebacks in the sport.
The trophy carried the words “Excellence through resilience, courage and tenacity,” which matched Marc’s long and difficult journey.
For five hard years, Marc battled serious arm injuries that almost ended his career. He left Honda, restarted with Gresini, and finally found success with Ducati.
Speaking with former World Superbike champion James Toseland, Marc said he was happy to be back at the awards and to see his friends from different racing series.
He said he was prouder of the comeback than the championship because it was the hardest period of his life and sometimes felt almost impossible.
In 2025, he dominated the MotoGP season and secured the title with five races still remaining.
Although a shoulder injury forced him to miss the final races, his season was already remembered as one of the most impressive in MotoGP history.
