The session took place under warm conditions and most incidents happened in the opening laps as three drivers fell off their bikes. Marc Marquez was on top of the standings most of the session. With two minutes remaining he fell off but maintained his first place with Quartararo, Fernandez and Mir behind.
After a couple of minutes there was a Yellow Flag in Turn 9 as Acosta fell off in his first fast lap. Not even a minute later Vinales fell too. With five minutes into the session Rins set the first fast time of 1:55:109 seconds ahead of di Giannantonio, Bagnaia and Binder. By that time Moreira caused a Yellow Flag in Turn 8 as he also fell off.
After nine minutes Aldeguer topped the standings with time 1:54:231 seconds. This time was later beaten by M. Marquez who was 0. 428 second faster meanwhile many riders drove into the boxes. Acosta got back on the track after his crash and his first fastest lap put him on the fifth position.
In the middle of the session Acosta improved his time and lined up third in the standings with gap to M. Marquez of 0. 560 second. With 20 minutes remaining M. Marquez also improved his time to 1:53:303 seconds.
In turn 13 Martin went into the gravel but remained on his bike so the session wasn’t interrupted. When he was trying his long penalty lap he faced technical problems on his bike in Turn 7.
With 12 minutes remaining M. Marquez was still leading the standings with Bagnaia, Ogura and Aldeguer behind. After three minutes Fernandez improved his time and got on the second position.
Five minutes until the end the riders were trying their last fast laps. M. Marquez remained on the top with Fernandez, Mir and Bagnaia behind. With two minutes until the end the leader fell off his bike in Turn 7 and caused a Yellow Flag. He managed to maintain his position and won the session. As the practice came to an end the riders practiced their starts.
