FP2

Free Practice 2 began with riders heading straight out on track under sunny skies. The session lasted 30 minutes and was mainly used for tyre testing and warm-up before qualifying.

The first lap times were between 1 minute 37 and 1 minute 33. Within the first five minutes, the pace dropped into the 1:32s and 1:31s. The early leaders were Acosta, Di Giannantonio, Bastianini, Marini and Álex Márquez.

After eight minutes the first yellow flag appeared following a crash from Augusto Fernández, though both he and the bike were unharmed. The times kept improving, with riders closing in on the 1:30s. Ten minutes into the session the order was Álex Márquez ahead of Di Giannantonio, Acosta, Quartararo and Aldeguer.

The second yellow flag was triggered when Brad Binder suffered technical problems and was seen pushing his bike to the marshals. At the same time Bezzecchi continued his strong run, holding third place after his good showing yesterday. Pedro Acosta remained the best KTM rider, the only one inside the top ten.

As the halfway point approached, Bezzecchi moved into the lead, chased by Álex Márquez. Both Morbidelli and Di Giannantonio were again showing strong pace in fourth and fifth, while Bagnaia also remained consistent inside the top ten. Bagnaia seems to be enjoying a bit of good luck too, perhaps thanks to the presence of his dog Turbo, who walked with him on Thursday.

Surprises continued as Luca Marini climbed to second, showing that Honda’s latest upgrade is working well. During the session it was also announced that Joan Mir had been declared unfit after his Friday crash and would not take part on Saturday, with his team focusing on his recovery for Sunday’s race.

With six minutes remaining Acosta improved to third place, shortly before another yellow flag for Jorge Martín’s crash at Turn 1. Then, with just three minutes to go, Jack Miller went down and hit the barriers, bringing out yet another yellow. Bezzecchi, however, remained in the lead, improving his lap once more. Morbidelli climbed to second with Marini third. Acosta stayed the only KTM in the top ten, just as Quartararo was the only Yamaha. Bagnaia ended the session in eighth place.

The final top ten in FP2 finished with Bezzecchi ahead of Morbidelli and Marini, with Acosta in fourth, Marc Márquez fifth, Álex Márquez sixth, Quartararo seventh, Bagnaia eighth, Di Giannantonio ninth and Aldeguer tenth.

Q1

Qualifying 1 included: Zarco, Quartararo, Binder, Viñales, Raul Fernández, Miller, Bastianini, Aldeguer, Augusto Fernández, Rins, Oliveira, and Chantra.

The first measured laps ranged from 1:33 to 1:31, though some riders posted 1:41s or had laps deleted. In this session, only the top 2 riders advance to Q2.

With 8 minutes to go, the pace dropped into the 1:30s, with Quartararo and Aldeguer leading. Positions kept changing rapidly, making it a fight to the very end.

Enea Bastianini crashed on his out lap with 4 minutes left, ending his session early as he couldn’t return to the pits in time. Meanwhile, Quartararo and Aldeguer remained the provisional top 2. Raul Fernández was close in 3rd, but not enough. Brad Binder pushed hard but couldn’t improve. Notably, Viñales didn’t start the session.

Quartararo then improved further, while Miguel Oliveira jumped to 3rd. Ai Ogura also climbed to 5th. Brad Binder was the first across the line under the checkered flag but was unable to improve.

Quartararo briefly had his best lap deleted for track limits but still led the session. Aldeguer stayed 2nd, enough to join Quartararo in advancing to Q2.

Q1 Top 2 advancing: Quartararo, Aldeguer.

Q2

The 15-minute second qualifying session began with riders rushing out quickly. The lineup included: Marc Márquez, Bezzecchi, Morbidelli, Bagnaia, Álex Márquez, Marini, Martín, Acosta, Di Giannantonio, Quartararo, and Aldeguer. (Mir was absent, declared unfit).

Times opened in the 1:31–1:30 range, with Marc Márquez initially holding provisional pole, followed by his brother Álex. Bagnaia posted a strong lap but had it deleted for track limits.

Marc began a fast lap but abandoned it to pit. Meanwhile, Álex Márquez took provisional pole, with Bezzecchi 2nd and Acosta 3rd. Bagnaia held 5th, while Marc dropped to 7th.

Pedro Acosta started a flying lap, fastest in three sectors, but crashed at Turn 14. Impressively, he didn’t let go of the bike and immediately rejoined.

Bagnaia later improved to 4th. Bezzecchi, on a quick lap, made a mistake in sector 3 and had to abort. Quartararo was fast in the first two sectors but lost time in the third, still improving to 2nd ahead of Marc.

In the final moments, Bezzecchi nailed his lap and snatched provisional pole. Under the checkered flag, riders completed their flyers with Bezzecchi staying on top, followed by Álex Márquez and Quartararo.
