MotoGP returns to Brazil this weekend, and one of the central figures of the event will be home favourite Diogo Moreira. The LCR Honda rider is set to experience his first premier class race in front of a domestic crowd, marking the occasion with a special tribute to one of Brazil’s greatest motorsport legends.

Moreira will take to the track at the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna in Goiânia wearing a helmet inspired by the iconic design of three-time Formula 1 world champion Ayrton Senna. The tribute adds a strong emotional layer to a weekend that already carries significant importance for Brazilian motorsport, as MotoGP makes its first appearance in the country since 2004.

The 2025 Moto2 world champion arrived in MotoGP as one of the most promising young talents on the grid, with Honda securing his signature as part of its long-term future plans. Moreira already showed solid potential during his debut in Thailand, where he qualified 15th and finished 13th to score his first points in the premier class.

However, racing at home presents a completely different challenge. The atmosphere in Goiânia is expected to be intense, with large crowds and strong local support pushing the young Brazilian into the spotlight.

“It’s a dream come true for me. To be able to race here in Brazil, in the main category, and represent my country is something I’m very proud of. My whole family will be here, the crowd will be huge, and I’m really excited to get started,” Moreira said ahead of the weekend.

After spending several years racing in Europe, the return to Brazil carries a deep personal meaning for Moreira. The Senna-inspired helmet further underlines the significance of the moment, connecting the country’s rich motorsport heritage with a new generation of talent.
