MotoGP Motogp 2026 Season Reports motogphungary motogpfriday
Pedro Acosta was the fastest rider in the afternoon practice session and secured first place with a late 1:36 lap. The windy conditions made things difficult, but the order changed many times as riders fought for a place in the top 10 and direct entry into Q2.
The afternoon practice is 60 minutes long, and the fastest 10 riders receive an entry to Q2.
The first laps were in the 1:39 to 1:41 time range. However, Pedro Acosta picked up where he left off in the morning and broke into the 1:38s time range again. Another rider joining Acosta and taking the lead of the practice was Fermín Aldeguer.
The tyre configurations were mostly both medium tyres, with some riders choosing a medium-soft combination.
Marc Márquez, who led the morning session, was in 5th place. On the other hand, Luca Marini put in an incredible lap, taking 3rd place. Shortly after, Jorge Martin pushed Marini down to 4th.
With 10 minutes until the session, the top 10 looked as follows: Aldeguer, Acosta, Martin, Bezzecchi, Marini, Márquez, Moreira, Mir, Bastianini, Ogura.
As the riders got more used to the windy conditions, the order was changing quickly. Bezzecchi managed to find more speed and moved to 2nd place, with Marc Márquez behind him.
Fabio Quartararo found some improvement from the morning session, but was still trailing just outside the top 10. Meanwhile, his Yamaha teammate Toprak Razgatlıoğlu found his way into 8th place.
Francesco Bagnaia, who had a decent morning session, was now down in 21st place. The majority of the riders went into the pits to talk with their mechanics, leaving only a few riders on track.
Luca Marini used the empty track to find his way back to 4th place. So did Raul Fernandez, who was down the order, but he found the speed and moved into 5th place.
As the riders made their way back onto the track, they managed to find more speed and improve their positions, like Pedro Acosta, who took the lead and was the first rider to break into the 1:37s time range.

Another rider to join the 1:37s time range was Marco Bezzecchi, who moved into 2nd place. Acosta, in the lead, improved his time even further to a 1:37.418.
With 30 minutes left, the top 10 looked as follows: Acosta, Márquez, Bezzecchi, Aldeguer, Ogura, Marini, Fernandez, Binder, Martin, Bagnaia. The riders went into the pits before heading out for their final attempts. Again, some riders stayed on track to take advantage of the empty circuit.
With 15 minutes left in the session, the riders returned to the track. The top 10 looked as follows: Acosta, Márquez, Aldeguer, Bezzecchi, Di Giannantonio, Moreira, Viñales, Martin, Bastianini, Ogura.
However, Luca Marini managed to find some speed and improved to 10th place. Meanwhile, Bagnaia once again dropped down to 19th place.
With 5 minutes left, Acosta was leading the session, with Aldeguer in 2nd and Bezzecchi in 3rd.
Bagnaia had a brilliant lap, but he made a mistake at Turn 16, costing him valuable time. Luca Marini also found improvement and moved into 7th place, ahead of Bagnaia.
Meanwhile, Raul Fernandez put in a brilliant lap to take the lead for a short time before Pedro Acosta broke into the 1:36s time range and reclaimed the top spot.
With the session nearing its end, the positions were changing quickly. With the chequered flag out, the riders were completing their final attempts.
The top 10 ended as follows: Acosta, Di Giannantonio, Fernandez, Aldeguer, Ogura, Bezzecchi, Márquez, Moreira, Martin, Miller.
