Repsol is set to return to the world of MotoGP in 2026 with an exciting new partnership. The Spanish company will become the official oil supplier for the Moto2 and Moto3 categories. It will also sponsor one MotoGP Grand Prix each year and have strong trackside visibility throughout the racing season.
This marks a new start for Repsol, which ended its long and successful partnership with the Repsol Honda team at the end of 2024. Over nearly three decades, the collaboration brought 15 world titles and made the Repsol name famous in motorcycle racing. Now, after just one season away, the company is coming back with a new focus and energy.
In MotoGP, every millisecond counts. By supplying oil to Moto2 and Moto3, Repsol will once again put its technology to the test under extreme conditions. The races provide the perfect environment for developing and improving the performance of Repsol’s products, which will also benefit riders and everyday motorcyclists around the world.
Repsol Lubricants already offers a wide range of products developed at the Repsol Technology Lab in Spain. This advanced research centre is home to more than 230 scientists and engineers who work with state-of-the-art technology to design new energy solutions. Thanks to this new partnership, Repsol plans to launch a new line of competition lubricants designed for all kinds of motorcycles, from high-performance models to daily commuters.
Repsol has been part of MotoGP for over fifty years, and its return underlines its deep connection with the sport. The company sees this agreement as an opportunity to keep innovating, to reach more customers, and to strengthen its reputation for quality and performance.
Clara Velasco, Director of Repsol Lubricants, said that the new collaboration represents an important step in the company’s global growth strategy. She explained that Repsol is delighted to return to such a demanding sport, where its oil can prove its strength and reliability. She added that this agreement will help Repsol continue improving its products to give customers the best possible performance.
Repsol’s comeback represents the start of a new chapter in its long connection with motorcycling. After decades of success, the company is ready to take on new challenges, develop advanced technologies, and support the next generation of riders.
