Yamaha is excited to unveil that Paolo Pavesio will take the helm as Managing Director of YMR starting January 1, 2025. Paolo succeeds the esteemed Lin Jarvis, who will conclude his remarkable 26-year tenure at the end of 2024.
Paolo, who has been the Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, has been a driving force in reshaping the company's motorsport landscape over the past years. Lin Jarvis, who has guided Yamaha to eight Rider, six Constructor, and seven Team World Championship titles since his appointment as Managing Director in 1999, will step down at the end of the year. However, Lin will continue to lend his expertise to Yamaha in a Senior Advisor role.
Takahiro Sumi, General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division at Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., expressed his gratitude: “On behalf of Yamaha, I want to extend our deepest thanks to Lin for his unwavering dedication and exceptional achievements over the past 26 years. His leadership has been pivotal in our MotoGP success, and we’re fortunate to retain his insight as a Senior Advisor.”
He added, “We’re thrilled to welcome Paolo Pavesio as our new Managing Director. Paolo’s impressive track record at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he led the charge to multiple World Championship victories, makes him the ideal leader for YMR’s next chapter. I am confident that under Paolo’s guidance, Yamaha will continue to thrive and achieve even greater success in MotoGP.”
