The Misano Grand Prix brought highs and lows for MotoGP’s biggest names. Marc Márquez showed his class with another Italian victory, Marco Bezzecchi thrilled the home fans, while riders like Francesco Bagnaia, Joan Mir and Enea Bastianini had weekend to forget.

Winner: Marc Márquez

Marc Márquez might not have had a perfect weekend, but he still left Misano as the big winner. A crash in the sprint showed even he can push too far, but on Sunday he returned to his ruthless best.

The championship leader beat Bezzecchi with his trademark mix of patience and precision, taking his second win in Italy this year. For Márquez, it was not just about the victory, it was about showing once again why he is the man to beat as he heads towards another world title.

Loser: Francesco Bagnaia

The Misano curse continues for Bagnaia. The home crowd’s favourite crashed once more, ending any hopes of a good result that weekend. It made his season look more like one of lost opportunities.

Loser: Joan Mir

Joan Mir’s weekend started badly and only got worse. He picked up a neck injury after crashing in practice and had to sit out Saturday’s action. Luckily, he had already set a time quick enough to secure a Q2 spot on Friday, allowing him to start 12th on the grid.

However, the good Friday result didn’t help him on Sunday, as he crashed on the opening lap and took out Johann Zarco in the process. With Luca Marini impressing on the other factory Honda with new upgrades, Mir’s struggles looked even worse.

Winner: VR46

Valentino Rossi’s team finally enjoyed a smooth weekend. Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio both delivered solid results that matched the team’s early-season form.

Morbidelli outqualified his team-mate with fifth on the grid and finished fourth in the race, while Di Giannantonio took a podium with third in the sprint. It wasn’t spectacular, but it was consistent – exactly what the Ducati satellite team has been looking for.

Loser: Pedro Acosta

Pedro Acosta showed his speed again at Misano, but luck was not on his side this time. A chain failure ended his race while he was running strongly in 4th place. For a rider said to be the future of MotoGP, these technical issues are costing him valuable results.

Loser: Brad Binder

Brad Binder had a nightmare at Misano. The KTM rider fought constant problems all weekend, from engine braking issues to losing his chain twice in practice. He only managed 15th in qualifying and then suffered another mechanical failure in the sprint.

His frustration was clear as he argued with his bike at trackside. However, a steady ride to 10th in the main race brought him a few points, but it was far from the weekend he had hoped for.

Winner: Marco Bezzecchi

Marco Bezzecchi’s season keeps getting better. His victory at Silverstone may still be his standout moment of 2025, but taking pole position and the sprint win in front of his home fans at Misano was almost as sweet. Even when losing out to Marc in the main race, it did little to spoil his weekend, especially after putting up such a strong fight.

Loser: Enea Bastianini

Bastianini’s revival hit a wall at Misano. After missing out on Q2 and crashing in Q1, he started from a lowly 20th place. He recovered to 10th in the sprint, but it was not enough for points.

On Sunday, disaster struck again when he crashed out at Carro on lap 12. After a string of strong results, this was a harsh reminder of how quickly fortunes can change in MotoGP.
