MotoGP rider Alex Márquez says he has many choices for the 2027 season. He hopes to decide his future before the first race of that year. The Spanish rider is currently racing for Gresini Ducati and has become one of the strongest riders on the grid.

Márquez joined Gresini in 2023. Since then, he has improved a lot and become a regular rider at the front of races. Last season, he finished second in the championship, which was a very big result for him. Because of this success, Ducati has given him a full factory-spec bike for the 2026 season. During testing in Sepang this week, Márquez was the fastest rider overall, showing he could be a serious title challenger.

Because he is performing so well, many teams are interested in signing him for the future. There are strong rumours that KTM wants him to join their factory team in 2027. KTM may need a new top rider because Pedro Acosta is expected to move to Ducati.

Márquez explained that Gresini has given him the strongest offer so far. He feels comfortable with the team because he knows the people, the working style, and the atmosphere. He also said the emotional connection with a team is very important for a rider. However, he admitted he is still looking at other possibilities before making a final decision.

He said the rider market is very busy at the moment because teams are fighting to sign the best riders. Márquez feels calm about the situation because he understands his options clearly. He would like to make a decision before the Thailand test if possible. If not, he is ready to wait a little longer, but he wants everything decided before the first race of the 2027 season so he can fully focus on racing.

During the Sepang test, Márquez also worked on improving his bike. Ducati riders tested several aerodynamic designs. Márquez mostly used the 2024 aerodynamic package, which he raced with last year. He said he prefers this version because he understands it better and feels more confident while riding. However, he believes there are still new parts to test during the next test in Thailand.

Márquez said the final day of testing in Sepang was very positive. Rain during an earlier session had slowed down his work, but the team managed to complete important set-up testing later. He said they were able to get the best performance from the bike, not only in fast single laps but also during sprint race simulations.

He admitted he made a few small mistakes during his runs, but he was happy with his consistency and strong lap times. Márquez believes there is still room for improvement, which makes him confident about the season ahead.

If Márquez continues his strong form, he could become one of the main riders fighting for MotoGP titles in the next few years. His decision about the 2027 season could also play a big role in shaping the future of the MotoGP rider market.
