The start was calm, Hamilton and Antonelli kept their positions, even though they battled. Later in the race there was a lot of overtaking between the top teams and Antonelli took the lead on lap eight. Lando Norris finished behind them, ahead of George Russell and Charles Leclerc.
At the start, Lewis Hamilton kept his leading position even though Kimi Antonelli tried to battle him. The McLarens had a good start and George Russell too, on lap two he was third behind his teammate.
On lap 2 there was a yellow flag as Fernando Alonso went off track. Lap later, Max Verstappen overtook Russell at the beginning of the lap for the fourth position, by this time Norris was third as Russell and Verstappen battled each other.
Since the start Antonelli stayed within one second behind Hamilton. The standings settled as Norris was on the third with Verstappen, Russell and Leclerc behind.
On lap eight Antonelli tried to attack Hamilton and he eventually overtook him in Turn 15. Lap later Sergio Perez received a 10 second penalty for causing a collision with Fernando Alonso. Russell overtook Verstappen for the fourth and they battled later but Russell managed to keep his position.
On lap 12 Antonelli built a gap on Hamilton of 1. 7 seconds and Russell had a gap of two seconds on Verstappen who settled on the sixth behind Charles Leclerc. A lap before the end Isack Hadjar battled with Liam Lawson, but Lawson managed to keep his eighth position.
On the last lap Russell got closer to third Norris but both of them kept their third and fourth behind the winner Antonelli and the second Lewis Hamilton.
