Aston Martin has officially presented the livery of its AMR26 Formula 1 car, marking the start of a new era for the team. The 2026 challenger is the first car developed under Adrian Newey’s technical leadership.
Aston Martin has revealed the livery of its AMR26 car for the 2026 Formula 1 season, a project that carries significant expectations as the team enters a new technical chapter. The car is the first Aston Martin machine created under the supervision of Adrian Newey, who now combines the roles of managing technical partner and team boss.
The British squad is openly targeting progress under the all-new Formula 1 technical regulations introduced for 2026. With Newey’s renowned design expertise and a fresh technical direction, Aston Martin aims to move closer to the front of the grid and establish itself as a consistent contender.
Another key change is the beginning of the team’s works partnership with Honda. The Japanese manufacturer returns as Aston Martin’s exclusive engine supplier, a collaboration both sides hope will deliver strong long-term performance.
Driver continuity remains an important element of the project. Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso stays with the team alongside Lance Stroll, providing experience and stability as Aston Martin develops its new package.
The AMR26 has already completed an initial shakedown at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The team arrived slightly later to the programme but still managed to cover roughly 50 laps as engineers gathered their first on-track data. The next milestone comes very soon. Full pre-season testing in Bahrain begins in just two days, where Aston Martin will get its first proper opportunity to evaluate the AMR26 against rival teams ahead of the new Formula 1 season.
