FP2

Free Practice 2 is used for riders to experiment with the setup for the upcoming qualification and to get a feel for the track. This 30-minute-long session starts with riders going immediately on track.
The first lap times were in the range of 1:29 to 1:33s. After the opening laps, the top five were as follows: Espargaró, Miller, Marini, Bezzecchi, Oliveira.

After the first five minutes, it was clear that Raul Fernández continued his impressive form from yesterday, while Bezzecchi topped the timesheets.

Continuing troubles for Honda, the bike of Luca Marini was seen smoking, showing an engine failure. Marini was taken back to the pits while his mechanics started preparing his second bike.

Bezzecchi, attempting another fast lap, was seen having some shaking issues in one section of the track, throwing away a potential fast time. On the other hand, Fernández continued to put in incredible laps and was holding third place.

With the session halfway through, the top five looked as follows: Bezzecchi, Aldeguer, Quartararo, Bagnaia, Fernández.

So far in this session, Bezzecchi, along with the first few riders, was in the 1:27s range. However, only a few riders were on track, while others were in the pits.

With five minutes left, there was the first yellow flag of the session, caused by Johann Zarco crashing at Turn 10. Luckily, both the rider and the bike were okay, but Zarco was unable to rejoin even with the marshals’ help.

So far, Bezzecchi hadn’t improved his time but remained in the lead. Behind him were Di Giannantonio and Fermín Aldeguer, followed by Miller and Quartararo rounding out the top five. Bagnaia was in the top 10, sitting in sixth place, while his new teammate Michele Pirro was last.

In the final minutes, some riders started their last flying laps. With the chequered flag out, Quartararo improved to third place. Other riders who had fast sectors early in the lap were slowed in later sectors, throwing away potential improvements.

Q1

The first part of qualifying started with riders wasting no time and going immediately on track. This 15-minute session would advance the top two riders to Q2.

Participating in this part of qualifying were: Miller, Oliveira, Binder, Bastianini, Morbidelli, Ogura, Zarco, Aldeguer, Savadori, Pirro, Mir, and Chantra.

After the first laps, times were in the 1:27 to 1:29s range, with the riders in advancing positions being Miller and Binder. As riders attempted another set of flying laps, times got quicker. With the session halfway done, riders returned to the pits. The top two now were Aldeguer and Binder.

However, with four minutes left, there was the first yellow flag of qualifying, caused by Luca Savadori crashing in Sector 2. He braked hard to avoid hitting a KTM rider, which resulted in his crash.

Aldeguer improved his time further and remained in first place, with Jack Miller right behind him. With two minutes remaining, most riders were using medium front and soft rear tyres, except for Somkiat Chantra, who had a different setup.

Aldeguer had some trouble finishing his last lap, meaning he was unable to improve or start another attempt. The race stewards announced that they would investigate the incident between Savadori and Brad Binder.

With the chequered flag out, some riders were still finishing their last laps. It looked like Brad Binder had slowed down another rider, this time Johann Zarco, and the stewards shortly after announced that this incident was also under investigation.

The riders advancing to Q2 were Aldeguer and Miller.

Q2

Participating in this part of qualifying were: Bezzecchi, Fernández, Di Giannantonio, Quartararo, Alex Márquez, Rins, Marini, Espargaró, Bagnaia, Acosta, Aldeguer, and Miller.

The tyre configuration was mostly soft rear with medium front, while two riders opted for a hard front tyre.
After the first laps, times were in the 1:27 to 1:28 range.

With five minutes in, there was a yellow flag caused by Alex Márquez crashing while being in the lead. Jack Miller then dipped into the 1:26 range, taking provisional pole.

As usual, with the session halfway done, riders returned to the pits. So far, Jack Miller was having an incredible ride on his home weekend. Meanwhile, Aldeguer, one of the few who stayed out, improved and jumped to second place.

The standings were: Miller, Aldeguer, Espargaró, Fernández, Marini, Di Giannantonio, Quartararo, Alex Márquez, Acosta, Bagnaia, Bezzecchi, Rins.

The race stewards announced that the incident between Bagnaia and Bezzecchi was under investigation, as both Bagnaia and Marini were impeding Bezzecchi.

Jack Miller, while still in provisional pole, had a small trip into the gravel but rejoined the track without issues.

Meanwhile, Bezzecchi improved and took provisional pole, with Pedro Acosta also improving and jumping to second place. Alex Márquez had his second crash of the session, bringing out a yellow flag in Sector 1.

With one minute remaining, riders started their final flying laps.
Bagnaia, who began his last lap, had to abandon the attempt, while Fabio Quartararo took pole position with a time of 1:26.465.

After the qualification, both Brad Binder and Bagnaia received a three-place grid penalty for Sunday.
