Marc Márquez has shared good news about his recovery and believes he will soon be back riding a motorcycle.

The Spanish rider was badly injured earlier this year at the Mandalika circuit in Indonesia. During the race, he was knocked down by Marco Bezzecchi and hurt his shoulder. Doctors later discovered a coracoid bone fracture and damage to the ligaments in his shoulder.

At first, Márquez hoped he could recover without surgery. Sadly, his shoulder did not heal well enough on its own, so he had to undergo an operation. Because of this injury, he missed the final four races of the 2025 MotoGP season and was unable to take part in the Valencia post-season test.

Before the crash, Márquez was having an amazing year. In his first season with the factory Ducati team, he dominated the 2025 MotoGP season and went on to win the title. It was one of the strongest comebacks of his career.

Recently, Márquez shared photos of himself riding a mountain bike, which was his first time back on two wheels since the operation. Now, he has confirmed that his recovery is moving forward well.

While receiving the “Heart of Spain” award at the 20th COE Gala in Madrid, Márquez explained that his broken bones are almost healed. He said that next week he will start getting used to using the throttle again, which is an important step before returning to racing bikes.

Speaking later at Ducati’s end-of-year Campioni in Festa event in Bologna, Márquez added more positive news. He said the bone has healed back in place and the ligament is now where it should be. He believes his shoulder is around 70 to 80 per cent fit and hopes to be back riding a motorcycle by the end of next week.

If everything goes according to plan, Márquez will return to a MotoGP bike at the first official test of 2026. This will take place in Sepang, Malaysia, in early February.

To celebrate Márquez’s 2025 title, Ducati has also revealed a special limited-edition Panigale V4 replica. The bike is designed to honour his championship-winning season and has been shared with fans through official images.

For Márquez, the focus is now on getting fully fit and ready for the new season, as he looks to come back stronger than ever.
