Turkish rider Toprak Razgatlioglu had took part in a special MotoGP test in Spain. The test happened at Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto and lasted for two days. Several MotoGP manufacturers attended the private session, including Yamaha, KTM, Aprilia and Ducati.

The test was unusual because teams were trying two different tyre brands. The current MotoGP supplier is Michelin, but Pirelli tyres also was used during the session. This could was important for the future of the championship because MotoGP will change tyre supplier in the coming year.

Several experienced test riders are expected to ride during the event. Among them are Andrea Dovizioso, Pol Espargaro, Dani Pedrosa, Lorenzo Savadori and Michele Pirro. These riders often help their teams test new parts, tyres and settings before they are used in races.

For Razgatlioglu, the test was another chance to gain more experience on a MotoGP bike. The Turkish rider joined the championship in 2026 with the Prima Pramac Racing team, riding a Yamaha YZR‑M1. Before moving to MotoGP, he became one of the most successful riders in the history of the Superbike World Championship, winning three world titles.

The change from Superbikes to MotoGP is not easy. The bikes are very different and the tyres also behave in another way. Razgatlioglu has already said that he still needs time to fully understand the MotoGP tyres and riding style. More testing is therefore very important for him.

The private test in Jerez should help teams collect valuable information about tyre performance and bike setup. It will also gave riders like Razgatlioglu more time on the track, which is very useful while they continue learning and adapting to MotoGP.

In the end, the session could play a small but important role in the future of MotoGP. If the comparison between Michelin and Pirelli provides useful data, it may influence decisions about the championship’s tyres in the years ahead. Meanwhile, for Razgatlioglu it is simply another opportunity to improve and become stronger in his new racing category.
