Formula 1 heads to Japan for the third round of the 2026 season, returning to a traditional race weekend format without a Sprint.
After back-to-back events in Melbourne and Shanghai, teams now shift their focus to the iconic Suzuka Circuit. Unlike the previous round in China, the Japanese Grand Prix will follow the standard format, meaning drivers will have three practice sessions before qualifying and the race.
Friday will feature two free practice sessions, giving teams valuable track time to fine-tune their setups on one of the most technical circuits on the Formula 1 calendar. Saturday begins with the final practice session, followed by qualifying later in the day to determine the starting grid.
The weekend concludes on Sunday with the full race distance at Suzuka.
