Riders went straight on track for FP2, using the session to warm up before qualifying. After crashes and yellow flags, the fight for pole was tight. In the end, Francesco Bagnaia took pole position, with Álex Márquez second and Franco Morbidelli third.
FP2
The first session of the day started with riders going immediately on track. In this 30 minutes long session, riders have it as a warm up before Qualifications, giving them options to try different tyre set ups if they want to.
After first flying laps, the time range was between 2:01 to 1:59s. With Francesco Bagnaia taking the lead from the start. While majority of the riders went with soft front and soft rear tyre, some of them experimented with either medium front or medium rear. There was also an exception, as one rider had medium front and hard rear tyre configuration.
As the riders finished their second flying laps, the times improved and the positions changed rapidly. With 7 minutes into the session, first yellow flag of the session was out, caused by Ai Ogura crashing who was without a problem able to quickly rejoin.
The fastest times quickly moved to 1:58s time range. With 9 minutes in there was second yellow flag of the session. This time, it was Augusto Fernandez who had crashed at turn 1.
So far the top 10 looked like this: Aldeguer, Quartararo, Márquez, Marini, Acosta, Bagnaia, Bezzecchi, R. Fernandez, Binder, Bastianini.
As the session neared its halfway points majority of the riders were in the pits. Leaving few exception on the track. That allowed Francesco Bagnaia to use the empty track and take hold of the lead of the session again.

And it didn’t take long for Luca Marini to take the lead for the session. And as the session progressed closer to the end, Marini remained in the lead, with Morbidelli taking 2nd place, pushing Bagnaia another place down.
And with the chequered flag out, riders were finishing their last flying attempts. Leaving the positions the same.

Q1
The first qualification is specific, with the two faster riders earning advancement to Q2. In this part of quali after yesterday were: Marini, Bagnaia, Aldeguer, Ogura, Bezzecchi, R. Fernandez, Binder, Oliveira, Bastianini, Chantra, Savadori, Pirro, A. Fernandez.
In this session everyone chose to have soft front and soft rear tyre. The first attempts were in a time range of 1:59 to 1:57s.
However, the times of the top 5 riders were really close, making it hard to have a favourite for advancing. As the riders finished their second flying lap, the times improved and positions changed. Now the provisional advancing riders were Marini and Aldeguer.
After a quick stop in the pits, the riders returned on track for their final attempts. So far Marini and Aldeguer were in advancing positions.
Yet that would change as the session slowly neared its end. Bagnaia had a flying lap, which had allowed him to jump to 1st place. However, even Aldeguer, who was now out of advancing positions had started a flying lap, which he did and he took the 1st place from Bagnaia. So with 2 minutes left the advancing riders so far were Aldeguer and Bagnaia.
However, with 1 minute left, Aldeguer had crashed out at turn 4. But with new rules in, he was unable to rejoin the session. With the chequered flag out, the riders finished their attempts. Yet there was no one who would attack the advancing positions. We’ve seen Aldeguer return to pits with his bike, however he also managed to crash in front of his box, damaging the bike even more after the crash. And it was official the advancing riders were Aldeguer and Bagnaia.

With 8 minutes left, Fabio Quartararo took the provisional pole position. The positions looked like this: Quartararo, Acosta, Mir, Zarco, Morbidelli, Di Giannantonio, Márquez, Miller, Espargaro, Aldeguer, Rins. Bagnaia was the only rider without a time for now

With over 2 minutes left, Pedro Acosta brought out the first yellow flag of this session. Meanwhile Márquez improved his time and jumped to 2nd place, with Morbidelli in 3rd. However with still 1 minute left, the riders had time for their final flying lap.
And with the chequered flag out, the riders finished their attempts. And it was official, with the final attempts, riders didn’t improve that much, the only rider who could have taken the pole position was Quartararo, who made mistake at last turn, which costed him the improvement.
Francesco Bagnaia took the pole position, with Márquez in second and Morbidelli in third.
