Formula 1 and the FIA have confirmed that the 2026 Concorde Agreement has been signed by both parties and all 11 Formula 1 teams.

The announcement follows confirmation from March that the Commercial Concorde Agreement had also been agreed by Formula 1 and the teams. Together, the two documents form the ninth Concorde Agreement in the sport’s history.

The new Concorde Agreement defines the regulatory, commercial and governance framework of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship until 2030, marking an important step in the continued professionalisation and global development of the sport.

The agreement ensures alignment between Formula 1 as the commercial rights holder, the FIA as the governing body, and the teams as the championship heads into a new technical era in 2026, with new power unit and car regulations coming into force.

It is believed that negotiations between the FIA and Formula One Management progressed in a cooperative spirit, despite being robust at times. As several media outlets, including PlanetF1.com, reported earlier, sources indicated that the new agreement represents a step forward in the relationship between the two sides, with compromises reached on key points during the talks.

The deal is also understood to deliver a positive outcome for the FIA, enabling greater investment in race regulation, race direction, stewarding and technical expertise, strengthening the sporting and regulatory side of the championship.

The signing of the new Concorde Agreement also reflects the strong growth of Formula 1 in recent years. With record viewership, an expanding global calendar and increasing engagement from younger audiences, the championship heads into the post-2026 era with what the FIA describes as unprecedented momentum.
