After taking on a reserve role with Haas, Jack Doohan will return to racing this year as he moves into endurance competition in the European Le Mans Series.
Jack Doohan is set to get back behind the wheel in 2026 as he combines his Formula 1 reserve duties with a full racing programme in endurance competition.
The Australian currently serves as a reserve driver for Haas, keeping him involved in the F1 paddock. However, after a period without racing, he will now return to competitive action in the European Le Mans Series with Nielsen Racing.
Doohan’s move comes after a difficult end to his Formula 1 career. He began the 2025 season with Alpine but lost his seat after just six rounds, bringing his first full-time opportunity in F1 to an early close.
"I'm very excited to be back racing, it's almost going to be 12 months since my last race. Amazing to do it with Nielsen Racing and to make this transition into sports cars," said Doohan.
The switch to endurance racing represents a new challenge after years in single-seaters, with different driving styles and race formats to master.
"All in all, it will help and be a massive experience gain for wherever my career goes past here," the Australian driver added.
The ELMS season begins on 12 April in Barcelona, where Doohan will start this new chapter of his career.
