Christian Horner has officially lost all leadership roles in companies connected to Red Bull after being removed as team principal.

Christian Horner’s long relationship with Red Bull Racing has now officially come to an end, with his role as a director of Red Bull's four companies terminated on 13 August. Records from Companies House, the United Kingdom’s registrar of companies, show that Horner is no longer listed as a director of Red Bull Racing, Red Bull Technologies, Red Bull Powertrains or Red Bull Powertrains 2026.

This comes after he was removed as team principal on 9 July, just days after the 2025 British Grand Prix, bringing to a close a 20-year spell in charge of the Milton Keynes team.

After being taken away from his duties, Horner was moved to other projects within the company. Many saw this as the beginning of the end, and it was widely expected that a full departure would follow. His place on the board has been taken by Stefan Salzer, Red Bull GmbH’s global head of human resources. Salzer’s appointment on 8 July, the day before Horner’s sacking became public, reflects the growing influence of Red Bull’s Austrian parent company on the Formula 1 team.

Horner became Red Bull Racing’s first team principal in 2005 and led the squad through two golden periods of success, first with Sebastian Vettel and later with Max Verstappen. During his time in charge, the team won six constructors’ titles and seven drivers’ championships. In recent seasons, however, his leadership was clouded by controversy, a decline in performance and power struggles within the organisation. Allegations of inappropriate behaviour, which were later dismissed, marked the start of a turbulent period in which the team slipped from back-to-back titles to third in the standings.

Laurent Mekies has since taken over as team principal, while Horner’s next move remains uncertain. There has been speculation about a possible switch to Ferrari or Alpine, but nothing has been confirmed.
