Horner was removed from his position as a team principal and CEO on 9 July, shortly after the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, which was his final race on the pit wall with the team. For a few weeks, he remained officially employed, but his departure has now been confirmed after a private agreement with the company.

During his leadership, Horner guided Red Bull to an era of extraordinary success, winning eight drivers’ championships, four with Sebastian Vettel and four with Max Verstappen, as well as six constructors’ titles. The team also achieved 124 race wins, 287 podium finishes, and 107 pole positions, making Horner one of the most successful team bosses in Formula 1 history.

Media reports suggest that Horner’s exit deal could be worth around 60 million euros, although this has not been officially confirmed. Other sources say the settlement may fall between 70 million and 100 million US dollars, while his original contract was due to run until 2030.

Horner was also removed from other senior Red Bull roles in the UK, including Red Bull Powertrains, which is building the team’s new engines for 2026, and Red Bull Applied Technologies, the company’s advanced engineering division. His departure follows months of reported disagreements and power struggles at the top of the team.
