MotoGP Jack Miller Pramac Yamaha Motogp 2025 Season summaries
Jack Miller says the Yamaha M1 does not naturally suit his riding style, but he has learned how to get strong results from the bike during his first season with Pramac Yamaha in 2025.
Jack Miller says the Yamaha M1 is not a perfect match for his riding style. Even so, he has learned how to get good results from the bike during his first season with Pramac Yamaha in 2025.
Miller joined Yamaha after KTM decided to let him go at the end of 2024. He signed a deal with the factory and raced for Pramac alongside Miguel Oliveira. This made the Yamaha M1 the fourth different MotoGP bike of his career. He started with Honda in 2016, had his best years with Ducati from 2018 to 2022, and then had a difficult time with KTM in 2023 and 2024.
Miller said the M1 is a very good bike. He explained that lap times today are much faster than in the past, so it is hard to compare bikes from different years. He feels lucky to ride the Yamaha and says it is a special motorcycle, even if it does not suit him perfectly on paper.
He admitted there are areas he would like to improve, but said the bike ranks highly. He also said he was happy with how his change to Yamaha went and proud that he managed to make the bike work for him.
During the 2025 season, Miller became Yamaha’s second-best rider. This happened while Alex Rins struggled and Miguel Oliveira missed much of the year due to injury. However, Miller still scored less than half the points of Yamaha’s top rider, Fabio Quartararo.
Miller finished the season in 17th place in the championship. He achieved five top-10 finishes and his best race was fifth at the Americas Grand Prix. He finished two places ahead of Rins in the standings, while Oliveira ended the season in 20th.
Because of his stronger results compared to Oliveira, Miller earned another season with Pramac. Oliveira lost his seat and was replaced by World Superbike star Toprak Razgatlioglu.
Yamaha plans to introduce a brand-new V4 engine bike in 2026. This is a big change, as Yamaha has used inline-four engines throughout the whole MotoGP era.
Miller said the change to the new V4 bike will not be harder than his move to Yamaha. He explained that 2025 had many ups and downs, with some strong races and some poor ones. However, after the Australian race, he said he started to understand the front end of the bike much better.
He added that Yamaha may lose a little performance, but the bike now gives him better feedback and more stability. This helped him understand the tyres and the limits of the bike. Miller said he now understands the Yamaha much better, and although next year’s bike will be different, the spirit of the bike will remain the same. He said he will keep learning and keep pushing forward.
